Summary
Jameson fixates on Alice’s poem—its lemniscates and precise dots—linking it to lifelong puzzles and Tobias Hawthorne’s legendary mind. He voices a radical conclusion: Alice may have taught Tobias how to play, her hand subtly guiding his. Lyra affirms the implication, while Grayson contextualizes their grandmother’s talent hidden behind social masks.
Their analysis triggers Jameson’s pain over Avery’s absence, and he lashes out, telling Lyra and Grayson to be quiet.
