After the discovery that Jake Nash was the boy in the old True North photo with Zara and Skye, Xander leaves to find Jameson and Grayson. Hours later, the three brothers return from the slopes injured and exhausted. Jameson already knows about the photo and the likely invisible-ink message, but Xander reveals to Jameson and Grayson that Jake Nash is Nash's father.

Avery asks whether the brothers plan to tell Nash. Nash appears in the doorway with Libby and asks what they are hiding. Libby, tired of being excluded, demands honesty, and Grayson takes Nash outside so the brothers can explain the revelation privately.

Left alone with Libby, Avery decides to stop keeping secrets from her. Avery tells Libby everything: Harry's true identity, the discoveries in Toby's wing, Avery's birth certificate, the charities in Tobias Hawthorne's will, and the real reason Avery wanted to come to True North. Libby processes the news and realizes that if Toby Hawthorne is Avery's father, then Ricky is not.

Avery insists that this does not change Libby's place as her sister. Libby then cuts through the puzzle-solving mindset and asks whether Avery has actually tried to find Toby directly. When Avery explains that Alisa's people failed to locate him and that Oren and Alisa would never let Avery travel to New Castle, Libby offers to go instead, arguing that no one would question her taking a trip home.

Libby decides Avery should return to Hawthorne House while Libby flies to Connecticut to search for Toby. Nash returns and corrects the plan: he will go with Libby, signaling that the Jake Nash revelation has not driven him away and that he intends to be part of the next move.
