Avery leaves her room expecting heightened security after someone left a bloody heart there. Eli is stationed outside her door, but Avery is surprised to find Grayson with him, formally dressed and clearly upset.

Grayson confronts Avery for not telling him about the heart. Avery pushes back, pointing out that Grayson has been avoiding her all week. Grayson denies avoiding Avery, but his inability to meet Avery’s eyes suggests the denial is weak.

Grayson then reveals that he knows Avery went to see Skye because he saw a photo of Avery at the hotel and inferred the rest. Avery wonders whether Grayson also saw or inferred something from the picture of Avery and Jameson, especially given the distance Grayson chose to put between them.

When Grayson says Avery should have come to him if Avery needed something from Skye, Avery remembers what Skye confirmed and immediately shifts focus to Jameson. Avery asks whether Grayson has seen Jameson, who skipped school, but Grayson says no and asks why.

Avery refuses to reveal Jameson’s private discovery about his father, saying only that Avery and Jameson figured something out about the charities in Tobias Hawthorne’s will. Grayson recognizes the relentless pattern in both Avery and Jameson, then leaves with controlled anger to find and confront his brother.
