Oren and Alisa agree to let Avery make a weekend trip to True North: fly out in the morning, return Sunday evening, and spend only one night away. Oren brings a six-person security team, while Alisa comes to arrange candid publicity photos. Avery recognizes that she has less than thirty-six hours to find whatever Tobias Hawthorne left for Skye without revealing her search to Alisa.

On the way to the airport, Avery texts Jameson again, telling him where she is going and why. Instead of hearing from Jameson, Avery receives a reply from Xander saying he will meet her at the plane, making Avery suspect that Xander is monitoring Jameson’s phone or possibly Avery’s.

At the plane, Xander denies surveilling anyone outside his family and announces that Rebecca and Thea are joining the trip. Avery understands that Xander may feel excluded because Jameson and Grayson went to meet Sheffield Grayson without him, so Xander has assembled his own team. Max reacts warily to Rebecca and Thea, while Xander immediately tries to charm Max with his usual eccentricity.

On Avery’s private jet, the adults and security sit near the front: Alisa and Libby face each other by a table, while Nash stretches out nearby, creating visible awkwardness. In the back, Avery, Max, Xander, Rebecca, and Thea discuss the search. Xander says they do not know exactly what they are looking for, only that Tobias Hawthorne left it for Skye and that it is probably in or near the cabin with Skye’s name on it.

Rebecca asks about the wording of the clue, but her ringing phone interrupts the conversation and visibly upsets her. Thea takes the call from Rebecca’s grandfather, reassures him that Rebecca is asleep, and later tells Rebecca that her grandfather will take care of Rebecca’s mother. The moment shows both Rebecca’s distress and Thea’s protective familiarity with her.

Avery explains that the clue to True North came from the part of Tobias Hawthorne’s will where he left Skye his compass. Thea then reveals that Xander is hiding an antique compass in his pocket. After Max confronts Xander with a thrown croissant, Xander hands the compass to Avery; it looks simple rather than expensive. As Avery examines it, Jameson finally texts back and says he will meet her there.
