After fifteen minutes, Avery gets Jameson alone on a balcony. Avery tells Jameson what she found in the house, including the hidden connection between Skye’s old room and Zara’s room and the note suggesting an unforgivable betrayal. Jameson listens with unusual stillness, signaling how heavily the situation is weighing on him.

Jameson then says Sheffield Grayson believes Toby set the fire on Hawthorne Island. Avery explains that she already heard part of the call because Grayson forgot to hang up, including the claim that Toby bought accelerant. Avery also reveals that she tried to call Jameson and Grayson repeatedly afterward, but no one answered.

Jameson shares the emotional fallout of the call: Sheffield made clear that he wants nothing to do with Grayson and considers Colin the closest thing he will ever have to a son. This confirms that Skye was telling the truth about Sheffield having always known Grayson existed, deepening the wound for Grayson and affecting Jameson as well.

Before Avery and Jameson can address the charged moment between them, Alisa interrupts and asks if Avery is ready to ski. Because Avery cannot reveal that the trip is really about searching the house, Avery admits she does not know how to ski. Grayson appears behind Alisa and offers to teach Avery, surprising both Avery and Jameson.
