When the convoy reaches the airstrip, Oren orders the plane swept and escorts Avery toward the jet. Avery is preoccupied with Hannah's words and with thoughts of both Grayson and Jameson. A sudden stillness follows the cold wind, Avery hears a high-pitched beep, and the world explodes into fire.
