After the chaos at Upano, Carl tells Donut, Elle, and Imani that they are heading into town, but he first makes a quick stop at the Tigrans’ garage. Imani checks on him after his reckless charge at One Fine Pig’s vehicle, and Carl admits he briefly lost control. Now calmer, Carl says he has an idea.

Carl returns to the Tigrans’ truck, where Dario and Nico have retreated with Penelope. He asks Donut to use All Eyes on Me in its spoken form, exploiting her high charisma so she can charm the Tigrans without singing. While Donut loudly delivers absurd “relationship advice” to Penelope and keeps the Tigrans transfixed, Carl slips close to the vehicle and plants two silent disintegration traps beside it. To avoid harming Penelope, Carl programs both traps to trigger only on Tigrans.

Once the traps are set, Carl and Donut withdraw and rejoin Elle and Imani. As they move down the sidewalk toward town, the strange pope-like skeletons from the Wienermobile pass by carrying a bucket of foul white liquid, led by the unsettling Minister of Blood-Letting. Donut cheerfully greets him, Elle jokes uneasily about the bucket’s contents, and Imani confirms it is something even worse, ending the chapter on an ominous note.
