When the guards move to block the party, Clay-ton, now playing bass in the club’s band instead of serving as a guard, recognizes Chris and Donut and warns the security team not to interfere with late-floor crawlers, which lets the group enter without a fight.

At the Wheel of Fortune table, Carl notices that the new croupier, Mitch Fiorelli, is both extremely high level and partially protected from examination, which makes Carl even more suspicious. Mitch confirms that Pontiff recently paid him to land on the "Nothing" spot and then jumped inside. Because earlier scouts had not seen that spot at all, Carl concludes the wheel has likely been altered as bait, and he begins to suspect the setup is a trap connected to Hamed rather than a straightforward route to the real Nothing.

With only a short time left in the race and no better option, Carl chooses to test the portal instead of attacking immediately. Mitch demands an inflated fee, Prepotente pays, and Chris volunteers to go first. Before Chris leaves, he and Imani share a painful farewell, and Imani makes Chris promise that if he finds a real chance to leave the dungeon, he must take it, no matter what happens to the rest of them.

Mitch manually turns the wheel to the correct wedge and opens a black portal under the marked spot. Carl examines it with his implant and learns that it is not the true Nothing but a one-way subspace portal leading to a stasis chamber, which confirms the spot is artificial even if it may still function as an escape route. Chris jumps through as planned, but Britney unexpectedly dives in after him, immediately leaving the party and showing Carl how quickly the team is being broken apart.

As Samantha sobs over Louis’s imminent departure, Carl reflects that losing Louis may damage the group even more than losing its strongest fighters. Donut and Lucia confirm through magical observation that only the "Nothing" wedge is actually powered, proving the rest of Mitch’s offer is a scam. When Mitch uses Britney’s jump as an excuse to double the already extortionate price, Carl stalls and prepares for violence, but Mitch calls for his men first, and the confrontation begins when the table suddenly tries to eat Donut.
