Chapter 63

Overview

Carl’s team tears into the factory heat, racing through extreme heat, enemy traffic, and industrial hazards while trying to catch the GTO carrying Corky. Forced onto a dangerous conveyor route, Carl uses the truck’s new rocket upgrade to survive a risky jump over molten vats, while Prepotente closes in and drops the GTO’s shield so Bianca can attempt the rescue.

In the next chamber, Carl discovers the factory is processing raw "Toddler Cocaine," and the warning reveals that magical defenses protect the operation. The pursuit of Corky is now unfolding inside a bizarre, heavily defended drug factory, raising both the danger and the chaos of the heat.

Summary

Carl, Donut, Osvaldo, Dong, and Grigori launch into the Gasworks Screw Factory, Steel Mill, and Doll Workshop heat as Carl blows away part of the truck’s roof-mounted weapon to clear his windshield. Dwight does not move from the starting line, but Carl ignores him because the immediate goal is catching the GTO carrying Corky. Once inside, Carl activates the upgraded Bubble Buddy shield and heat sink, and the team pushes through a sweltering industrial room full of metal pellets, fleeing knocker workers, and attacking racers.

As vehicles and mounts crash, fire weapons, and cut across the factory floor, Carl studies the route and realizes the Lady Dominators are forcing everyone toward a dangerous conveyor-belt path that ends in a jump over molten vats. Carl had hoped to avoid the jump, but he adjusts the truck for traction and commits to the same route. During the approach, Prepotente and Jurgen surge ahead on their massive mount Sweety, and Prepotente confirms the plan: once the GTO’s shield is down, Bianca will try to snatch Corky from the car.

In the next room, the heat rises around bubbling vats and curving conveyor belts. Carl watches the GTO make the jump with its golden-wheel upgrade, then sees Sweety follow. When Carl reaches the ledge, he uses the truck’s untested rocket accelerator and Bubble Buddy flight assist to cross the gap; the boost is too strong at first, so Carl cuts it midair and barely corrects their path before landing hard on the far conveyor. Prepotente stays on the GTO, fires rockets into it, and then reports that the shield has been brought down, opening the way for Bianca’s extraction attempt.

Carl’s truck climbs into the next chamber, where white powder fills the air and quickly coats everything, making visibility worse. To understand the hazard, Carl identifies the substance and learns it is raw "Toddler Cocaine," a deliberately addictive product made by the knocker-run Coblyn Corporation. The description explains that the knockers themselves are mostly harmless, but magical constructs defend the drug operation, warning Carl that the team has entered an even more dangerous part of the factory while the chase for Corky continues.
